1. What is WinterKids?
WinterKids is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that helps children develop healthy lifelong habits through fun, outdoor winter activity.
2. What is the WinterKids Passport?
The WinterKids Passport is available to all 5th, 6th, and 7th graders in Maine. The Passport offers free and discounted tickets, lessons, and rentals at outdoor recreation centers across the state, including downhill ski areas, cross country ski centers, ice skating arenas, and snow tubing parks.
3. What is the WinterKids FunPass?
The WinterKids FunPass is available to all Maine children in preschool through 4th grade. The FunPass offers kids free trail passes at cross country skiing and snowshoeing areas throughout Maine.
4. How is WinterKids funded?
WinterKids programs are made possible thanks to the generosity of our major sponsors, Hannaford Supermarkets, TD Bank, Time Warner Cable, and Healthy Maine Partnerships.
Childhood obesity is a huge public health concern. I support WinterKids in their efforts to help children develop healthy habits by getting them outside and active in the winter!
