Memorial Middle School
Mission: The mission of the Memorial Outdoor Club is to provide all students with chance to explore safe adventures locally and in the forests, mountains, and waters of Maine. We analyze the barriers to outdoor activities that keep underserved and underrepresented populations from enjoying sports like mountain biking, skiing, and camping, and we work to eliminate those barriers so that any student who enters our building will have the quality equipment and instruction they need to enjoy formative experiences in outdoors. We find underused natural spaces near our urban campus to teach kids how to find joy and build confidence in the outdoors.
