At the 10th Anniversary of the WinterKids Downhill 24, 58 teams, comprised of 467 participants, skied, snowboarded, and skinned Sugarloaf Mountain for 24 hours straight, raising over $785,000 on behalf of WinterKids – the most we have ever raised in a single event. Incredible!
We would not be able to do the work that we do without the support of our participants, sponsors, donors, and volunteers. Thanks to all of you, we have raised over $3 million for WinterKids programs in the last decade. This has allowed us to expand our reach from 5,000 kids to 30,000 annually. Just let that sink in. We are so proud and grateful to have such a strong community of supporters for WinterKids.
Thanks to this year’s record fundraising total, we were also able to support six secondary beneficiaries, and give back to the Carrabassett Valley community this year: Sugarloaf Ski Club ($15,000), Adaptive Outdoor Education Center ($15,000), Kingfield Elementary School ($5,000), Strong Elementary School ($5,000), Phillips Elementary School ($5,000), and Stratton School ($5,000).
Coming Soon: The WinterKids Downhill 24 Outdoor Fund
