WinterKids Adventure Fund Will Help 1,300 Maine Kids Thrive Outdoors This Winter

Winter in Maine is more than a season; it’s a playground, a classroom, and a chance to grow. This year, thanks to the WinterKids Adventure Fund, more than 1,300 children across the state will have new opportunities to discover the joy of winter through skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country adventures.

The WinterKids Adventure Fund supports inclusive, multi-week programs that make winter activity accessible to all kids, no matter their background. By helping to remove financial and geographic barriers, the fund ensures that more families can connect with the health, confidence, and community that come from outdoor play.

“This year’s recipients reflect a shared commitment to helping children grow through winter play,” said Josh Harrington, Family Programs & Outreach Manager at WinterKids. “From cross-country trails to alpine slopes, these programs will spark new skills, confidence, and connection for hundreds of Maine kids.”

Together, with our partners and supporters, we’re making sure every child has the chance to learn, move, and thrive outdoors this winter.
