DESIGNED FOR
Pre-K thru 6th Grade
“Art is an important part of our connection to nature. For more than a hundred years, some of the most acclaimed painters– Marsden Hartley, Frederic Church, John Marin, and many more–came to the Katahdin Region to paint. Before, during, and after colonization, the Wabanaki people, including the Maliseet, Micmac, Passamaquoddy, Penobscot, and Abenaki Nations, inhabited what is now northern New England since time immemorial. Art is still very much a part of their culture and everyday life. Art plays a role in our health, expression, and connection to all living things. It helps us convey our feelings and our place.”
