Ski. Ride. Raise. Repeat.
24 Hours. One Mountain. A Community That Wouldn’t Stop.
From six-year-old athletes to 435-lap champions, the 14th Annual WinterKids Downhill 24 at Sugarloaf Mountain proved that every lap on the mountain and dollar raised truly counts.
More Than a Race. A Community on a Mission.
For one full night and day on Sugarloaf Mountain, hundreds of skiers, snowboarders, and skinners came together for the 2026 WinterKids Downhill 24, Maine’s most-loved charity ski event. They didn’t just ski. They fundraised, they competed, and they helped give Maine kids access to the magic of winter.
Congratulations to every participant, partner, donor, and volunteer who made this happen.

How Scoring Works at D24
Scores are based on combined points: fundraising (60%) + time on the mountain (40%). This unique formula is what makes D24 so special: being the fastest skier isn’t enough. You have to rally your community too.

Endurance and strategy aren’t the whole story. The culture of this event is what makes D24 unforgettable.

The Hidden Heroes: Skin Up Results
While lifts carried most skiers to the top, a dedicated group of athletes earned triple-point laps by skinning up the mountain on foot, navigating freezing temps and pure exhaustion. These are their remarkable results.
| Rank | Athlete | Skin Up Laps |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Lester Li (Sappi Shredders) | 26 |
| 2 | Isabella Robinson | 20 |
| 3 | Stephanie Noyes | 19 |
| 4 | Caroline Knowles | 18 |
| 5 | Ben Knowles | 17 |
| 6 | Chris Carleton | 15 |
| 7 | Weston Hall | 9 |
| 8 | Heather Browne | 6 |
| 9 | Jamie Hatch | 5 |
| 9 | Mason Vega | 5 |
Lester Li’s 26 skin-up laps earned triple points per lap, a key factor in the Sappi Shredders’ King of the Mountain Cup victory.
