The 6th Annual WinterKids Winter Games wrapped up on Friday, February 3rd, and Things got Seriously Wild!
Our 16 Competitive Track schools across Maine finished WEEK 4 of the 2023 WinterKids Winter Games with a tie between our top 2 schools, resulting in a tiebreaker round. To help break the tie, we asked our 2 top scorers to submit a “Snow Principal” likeness of their actual school principal:
Both submissions were incredible, but ultimately, only one school can take home the Gold medal. Based on our final judges’ votes, here are the top three finishing schools:
GOLD MEDAL + $5,000
Leroy H. Smith School, Winterport (Waldo County)
4th year in the Winter Games
SILVER MEDAL + $3,000
Williams–Cone School, Topsham (Sagadahoc County)
1st year in the Winter Games
BRONZE MEDAL + $1,500
Rangeley Lakes Regional School, Rangeley (Franklin County)
4th year in the Winter Games
We are incredibly proud of how hard these schools worked to get their students outside and learning throughout the four weeks of the Games, and we are looking forward to seeing how they continue to keep the momentum going beyond the games!
