The 7th Annual WinterKids Winter Games are in full swing, with schools embracing the outdoors and learning the importance of “The Little Things” in this four-week competition.
More than 3,000 children in 16 schools across the state are vying for first place and a $5,000 cash prize as part of our Competitive Track!
week 1 moment of the week
For Week 1, students and faculty hosted opening ceremonies outdoors and completed daily outdoor physical activity challenges to earn points. They were also allowed to enter for a bonus point by submitting a HUMAN FORMATION VIDEO as their Moment of the week, with the Winter Games panel of judges ultimately selecting one winner for the week.
1st place: Williams-cone Elementary School
The school earning first place is Williams-Cone School in Topsham with this human formation video.
HONORABLE MENTION: Rangeley Lakes Regional School
Rangeley Lakes Regional School in Rangeley earned second place for their video.
That puts Williams-Cone at the top of the leaderboard following Week 1!
COMPETITIVE TRACK LEADERBOARD AFTER WEEK 1
Another 7,000 children are participating in the Play Along Track, a non-competitive edition of the Winter Games!

Students in both our Competitive Track and our non-competitive Play-Along Track had a blast during week 1, participating in the following daily challenges, as guided by this year’s PLAYBook, “The Little Things” edition:
