This past winter season (2021/2022), we challenged families to enter a photo contest by sharing photos of their favorite moments using the WinterKids App. We had over 100 submissions to our alpine skiing/snowboarding, cross country skiing/snowshoing, and ice skating categories.
We are thrilled to announce this year’s winning families and recreation areas. Each winning family will receive a family season pass for their activity category, and the winning recreation areas will each receive $500 to support programming for kids at their location.
And the winners are…
Alpine Skiing & Snowboarding
Winning family: Theberge family, New Gloucester
Winning location: Mt. Abram Ski Area & Bike Park, Greenwood
My family and I were so excited to find out that we won season passes for the whole family! This is HUGE! We’re so looking forward to being able to ski more this upcoming season! This program has made this sport so much more affordable and fun for my family and our friends families. We appreciate all your hard work and dedication that you put into this.

Winning location: William Troubh Ice Arena, Portland
We just found the WinderKids App this last year and it was awesome! We got to experience new locations to skate and ski that we wouldn’t have otherwise tried. It also helped us as a family to be outside and enjoy the winter more this year, to recreate, and most of all to have fun!

Congratulations to the families and recreation areas who won! And thank you to all the families who submitted photos and to the recreation areas that support WinterKids. We will be holding another photo contest for the 2022-23 winter season, so stay tuned for details!
